The bout between Cody Garbrandt and T.J. Dillashaw was supposed to hold in Las Vegas, Nevada on July 9, 2017 and was expected to co-headline UFC 213.

However, due to a troubling back injury, Garbrandt has been forced out of his Bantamweight title fight.
The injury is a few years old and has been a big issue for the fighter since his mixed martial arts (MMA) career. However,he has undergone a stem cell treatment in Germany at the request and expense of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).
Thankfully, the treatment has helped with the pain but Garbrandt admits that he is yet to heal enough to fight anytime soon. The fighter who spoke during a recent appearance on “The MMA Hour” noted that he would not like to prolong the fight all because of an injury.
“The last thing I want to do is prolong the fight because of an injury. T.J has an ass-whooping (coming) and I want to be 100-percent to give T.J. a 100-percent ass-whooping.
“I won’t be satisfied going in 60-percent and still whooping his ass. I don’t want to give him a 60-percent ass-whooping, I want to give him a 100-percent ass-whooping like he deserves.” he said. (more…)
